MDAs allow Guardian to discretionarily act on your behalf within pre-agreed limits. In practice, the MDA arrangement ensures the timely management of portfolios. MDAs provide the necessary autonomy to seek opportunities where there is strong competition for quality assets.

Guardian has been operating MDAs on behalf of clients since the inception of the MDA regime over 17 years ago. At that time, we made the choice to operate a non-custodial MDA in which all investments are held in the name of the investor, not in the name of a custodian. Taking this option has allowed us to remove both the fees charged by custodial services/platforms and removed the investment restrictions placed on our advisers by these external administration services. By removing the ‘gatekeepers’ we see more deals, more often.
